There are thousands of standards which deals with the safety and minimum requirements of almost every consumer product. They cover safety requirements of passenger cars, industrial equipment, appliances, toys and more. An important step of any accident investigation is to determine if any standard was bridged. For that FEI has an access to almost any US and European standards. However, one has to keep in mind that in contrast to state and federal codes, such as ADA or building codes, which has to be complied with standard are voluntary and it up to the manufacturer to adopt them.
